The Print Club of New York has an encore visit to The New York Public Library on Saturday, February 20, 2016, 9-10am New York Public Library
Some of you may have experienced the pleasure and reward of the Club’s guided tour through the NYPL Turner/Moran exhibit withDr. Madeleine Viljoen, Curator of Prints at the NYPL. For those who were there and for those who missed it, here is another opportunity for a great art experience!
Printing Women: Three Centuries of Female Printmakers, 1570-1900 is a fascinating and highly informative exhibit about the often unrecognized work of many European women who operated out of the spotlight but with seriousness of purpose and mastery of their craft . These works are being exhibited for the first time since 1901.
Because the exhibit is in a public hallway, Dr. Viljoen has generously agreed to meet with our group before the Library is open to the public. Members and their guests should plan to meet promptly at 9 a.m. at the staff entrance to the Library on 40th St. (catty corner from the Maison Kayser Bakery). We will then go as a group on the staff elevator up to the exhibit.
We have a size limit for this event, so please reserve your place with Kay Deaux (kdeaux@gc.cuny.edu or 212-260-7521) beforeMonday, February 15.
