The Print Club of New York’s Annual Meeting and Artists’ Showcase was held on Monday, May 16th, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at The Society of Illustrators, 128 East 63rd Street, Manhattan.
The brief annual business meeting finalized membership on the Club’s Board of Directors for the coming year and reported on our finances. The selected artists, with varying styles and backgrounds, talked about their experience as artists and the development of their distinctive artistic styles, followed by a Q&A period.
The Artists’ Showcase featuree five artists, selected earlier this year, by a committee chaired by Gillian Greenhill Hannum. Committee members visited the Art Students League, Center for Contemporary Printmaking, Guttenberg Arts, Manhattan Graphics Center, New York Academy of Art, and Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop.
After the artists introduced themselves and their work with brief formal presentations and members had the opportunity to talk with them informally and to purchase their work. Refreshments and an opportunity to chat with other members of the Club and their guests was part of the evening as well.
