The Print Club of New York’s Annual Meeting and Artists’ Showcase was held on Monday, May 15th, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at The Society of Illustrators, 128 East 63rd Street, Manhattan.
The brief annual business meeting finalized membership on the Club’s Board of Directors for the coming year and reported on our finances. The print makers selected for the showcase spoke about their experience as artists and the development of their distinctive styles, followed by a Q&A period.
The Artists’ Showcase featured five artists, selected earlier this year, by a committee comprised of: Gillian Greenhill Hannum (Chair), Kay Deaux, Alex Ehrlich, Marilyn Ehrlich, Sheila Fane, Stephanie Feingold, Charles Garbowsky, Suzanne Lesser, Karen Revis, Mona Rubin, Caroline Samuels, Chuan Shi, Margaret Simons and Bonnie Yousuf. Committee members visited the Art Students League, Center for Contemporary Printmaking, Guttenberg Arts, Manhattan Graphics Center, New York Academy of Art, and Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop.
After the artists introduced themselves and their work with brief formal presentations, members had the opportunity to talk with them informally and to purchase their work. Refreshments and an opportunity to chat with other members of the Club and their guests were part of the evening as well.
