Hands-on Printmaking Workshop

The Lower East Side Printshop hosts the Print Club for a hands-on workshop on Wednesday, November 5 from 6-8pm. Director Marie Tennyson will start us off with a tour of the facility.  We’ll learn about the equipment used for making screenprints, intaglio, and relief work, and view prints that artists have created on site. Then we’ll make our own drypoint etchings! Bring an image that you can use to trace on a 3 x 4 -inch plate–high contrast black/white images are best, but the printshop will have other inspiration if needed. For a materials fee of $20, a plexiglass plate will be provided, along with the use of aprons, a metal scribe, paper, and ink–and guidance by print assistants. You’ll produce a couple of prints to take home, along with your plate. No experience necessary!
