Private Printing Demo & Workshop with woodblock printer Hironobu Numabe

Ronin Gallery, one of the leading dealers in Japanese woodblock prints and home to one of the largest collections of 17th-21st century Japanese prints in the United States, invites Print Club members to a Private Printing Demo & Workshop with woodblock printer Hironobu Numabe on Wednesday, August 13 from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm at 32 West 40th Street in Manhattan.

From August 7 through 15, Ronin Gallery and Globus Washitsu will host traditional woodblock printer Hironobu Numabe of Numabe Mokuhan in New York City as the 2025 Ronin | Globus Artisan in Residence. Ronin Gallery is also collaborating with the printmaking studio to remaster Katsushika Hokusai’s iconic Under the Wave off Kanagawa (The Great Wave). In honor of this collaboration, Ronin Gallery will exhibit an original impression of Hokusai’s Great Wave alongside the newly remastered edition—on view in the gallery for one week only!
